Two Men Formally Indicted with Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the jailhouse death of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
